Connect your LinkedIn account via OAuth. When you post on your origin platform, Ferryman automatically creates a matching LinkedIn post — so your professional network stays up to date without extra effort, and without you needing to remember to log in.

Why cross-post to LinkedIn

LinkedIn has the highest-value organic audience of any social platform, by a wide margin. Founders, hiring managers, recruiters, decision-makers, and B2B buyers are all there in a way they aren't (or aren't as concentrated) on X, Bluesky, or Threads. For anyone whose professional life involves selling, hiring, raising, or partnering, organic LinkedIn reach translates into pipeline more directly than any other platform.

The platform also rewards low-volume creators in a way Instagram and TikTok don't. Posting once or twice a week is enough to build serious presence over a year — but the catch is that consistency matters more than volume. Skipping weeks resets your algorithmic reach. That's the exact problem cross-posting from X solves: your LinkedIn presence inherits your X cadence, for free.

And LinkedIn's organic reach has held up remarkably well. While Twitter/X has compressed organic reach for non-paying accounts and Threads is still figuring out its algorithm, LinkedIn consistently surfaces good posts to non-followers — even posts from accounts with modest follower counts.

What works well on LinkedIn

LinkedIn's feed dynamics reward a specific posting style. A short X thread can become a single high-performing LinkedIn post if it's structured right:

• The first three lines are the hook. LinkedIn truncates posts after roughly three lines with a “...see more”. Those three lines decide whether the post performs. Original X posts that lead with the punchline do best when cross-posted.
• Line breaks matter. Walls of text underperform. LinkedIn rewards visually-skimmable posts with short paragraphs and white space — exactly the format that also reads well as a multi-tweet thread on X.
• Stories beat takes. “Here's what happened when we tried X” outperforms “Here's my opinion about X” on LinkedIn. The strongest cross-posts share a personal experience or a behind-the-scenes look at work.
• Hashtags are decorative, not algorithmic. LinkedIn de-emphasized hashtag search in recent years. They don't hurt, but they don't drive reach the way they do on Bluesky or Mastodon.
• Images and document carousels boost reach. A post with a single image typically gets more reach than text-only. Multi-image “document”-style carousels outperform both.

Use LinkedIn as your origin

If LinkedIn is where you create most of your content, set it as your origin and Ferryman will sync your posts to X, Bluesky, Threads, and Mastodon — automatically splitting longer LinkedIn posts into native threads on platforms with shorter character limits.

Setup

1. Sign in to Ferryman
2. Go to Settings and click Connect next to LinkedIn
3. Authorize via LinkedIn OAuth
4. Enable cross-posting and select LinkedIn as a target (or origin)

Tips for cross-posting to LinkedIn

• Engage with comments in the first hour. The LinkedIn algorithm uses early engagement as a strong signal. Replying to comments quickly amplifies reach — and the original post is still in your X tab.
• Don't worry about cadence mismatch. Posting 5x per day on X and having 5 LinkedIn posts surface won't hurt you — LinkedIn handles volume gracefully and your best post still rises. The risk is the opposite: posting too rarely.
• Skip the X-specific replies. Tag them with #noferry. Your LinkedIn network doesn't need replies to X conversations they weren't in.
• Long-form X threads land well as single LinkedIn posts. The 3,000-character limit usually fits an entire X thread without splitting, which actually reads better — you get the full argument in one update, formatted for LinkedIn's skim-friendly UX.
